>When designing the space for aespa’s ‘WDA’ music video, the main focus was to naturally express the atmosphere that exists between the ordinary and the unfamiliar.
>For this project, aespa wanted to be portrayed as beings that exist within everyday life, yet still carry a subtle sense of unfamiliarity. We approached this idea through spatial design and sculptural language.
>The first material we chose was glass.Glass allows objects and light to pass through, while at the same time creating a thin boundary within the space. Through this materiality, we wanted to express aespa’s image — something both integrated into reality and slightly detached from it.
>The laser set was approached in a similar way. By designing the white structure so the source of the laser could not be easily identified, we aimed to create a quiet sense of ambiguity within the space rather than something directly explained.
