Yo. this isnt a jab or anything coz I cant actually find any details about copyright or permission and I find it very interesting as someone studying Music production at uni right now. However I noticed that at about 1:36 in Next Level is the same trumpet type sample in exactly the same key/timing as Like it by CLC.
Generally, in music production, this is just called a sample and normally samples are either one-shots (drum hit or note stab type thing) or melodies, beats… After like buy Ive is a good example of this as well having sampled a significant section of “I Will Survive”.
I’m not here to hate or anything coz I love both songs a lot, but knowing what happened with CLC and Cube ent, I cant help but feel there might be something nefarious going on, I could also be completely wrong and the writers for both companies/groups just happened to find the same sample.
Ive been trying to look into it since I heard Next level for the first time, but I cant find anyone else mentioning it or and information about if CLC’s one was also a sample.
mainly just an intresting thing from a producers perspective
Thanks, and have a nice day

It is a very generic trumpet sample and so will almost certainly have been purchased from a royalty-free sample service, such as Splice.
There’s nothing nefarious going on, it’s extremely common. Here’s a [video](https://youtu.be/8I56PRNkYs8) with more examples.
……. Kids these days, always trying to make a conspiracy theory over nothing. And you’re calling yourself a producer?
I guess they haven’t introduced you to splice in uni yet lol
