20. aespa, LEMONADE – The 2nd Album
aespa’s distinction lies in how they pull pop’s darkest, hardest corners — spaces girl-group pop is often assumed to avoid — into their own territory. Their second full-length album, LEMONADE, officially opens a new season of the group’s mythology. The title track, also featured on our Best K-Pop Songs of 2026 (So Far) list, makes sourness physical, rushing through the body like a roller coaster. The album widens that world by bringing G-DRAGON, Ty Dolla $ign and, on an alternate version of “LEMONADE,” Becky G into the frame. Once enclosed within a private virtual universe, the four members now occupy the center of a pop platform broad enough to absorb different genres, generations and markets. “WDA,” featuring G-DRAGON, turns madness and horror into grand synth bass and an uncannily familiar hook. On the electronic dance track “Switchblade,” Ty Dolla $ign joins aespa as transformation and adaptation are sharpened into a blade. LEMONADE trades aespa’s signature metallic tang for an acidic bite without losing the tension and aggression that made their sound so addictive in the first place. – Billboard Korea
